Lake Michigan Vacation 2009

Well it was that time of year again. My family spent a week at a cottage on Lake Michigan. The weather wasn't as nice as last year but there was no rain so we can't complain that much seeing how rainy this summer has been. We did our usual laying on the beach, blueberry picking and swimming in the waves. The kids loved the beach and Luca become obsessive over playing stick in the sand. She is a trip. This year we also had a professional photographer come and take some pictures. I have put them in a slideshow at the bottom of the page. Lake Michigan sure is beautiful. Better than the ocean if you ask me!

Kennywood Park!

Well it's been quite some time since i've updated my blog - again. Seems I have trouble keeping up with an almost 4 year old, a full time job, Facebook AND blogs! :-) After some grief from my big sister though, I'm updating my blog.
Gavin and I had a great past weekend. We headed home to Pittsburgh and did some fun things. Thursday we went to Kennywood Amusement Park. Saturday we went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge the battery in my camera and didn't get enough pictures from Kennywood and none from the baseball game. But we had a blast!
A small slideshow is posted below!

Gavin's Craft Pillow

Well... i'm always looking for a fun craft for Gavin and I to do and so we attempted to make a pillow. Why I let him talk me into using glitter is beyond me. Maybe it was those big huge brown eyes and long lashes and I temporarily went insane. :-) Here is Gavin's very own pillow made completely by him, stuffed by him and decorated by him. I helped with the glue on his name although, proudly I can say, my son knows how to spell his own name! It would be a really great pillow to use if it weren't covered in glitter! haha. Oh well, he loved making it.

It's been a while...

Well it's been quite some time since i've updated this site. So where to begin... we've been busy and really ready for Spring to come. Cupid paid Gavin a visit for Valentine's day, we went to the Detroit Boat Show at COBO Hall, went to the Lansing Turkey and Deer Spectacular and Gavin got a new bow, I turned 34 and the kids made me a cupcake birthday cake, took a visit to PA to visit family and Gavin came down with croup - which has transferred to a horrible cold for me as well. So it's been an interesting ffew weeks but it won't be long until Spring!!! Here are a few recent pictures.

Painting Ceramics

Gavin painted a beautiful little ceramic dog today. It is a planter. There is a hole in the middle for a small planter and we will point some seeds in it. It is supposed to grow grass in about 5 days. Should be cute. But for now, he did all the painting. He didn't leave a single white spot without paint! Look how beautiful. :-)

Luca's 2nd Birthday

Monday was Luca's 2nd birthday. It's amazing she has made it that long and we didn't kill her first. :-) Gavin and I took a trip to the grocery store and got her a little cake, some treats and a new bone. We put candles on the cake and sang Happy Birthday to her. She didn't care - she just wanted her cake.

Spaceman!

Today's project was... Spaceman!!! Gavin wanted to be a spaceman so we made a spaceman suit. I didn't have all the things I would like to have had but we made do. He did very good helping cut all the holes in the box, stapling the construction paper and coloring some spots on the box as well! He likes it and he looks so cute. :-)

Gavin's Holiday Party

Friday was Gavin's Christmas party. It had gotten canceled due to a snow day around Christmas so we finally had it. It was SOOO cute. His teacher had a pretty structured day. They did their regular morning routine of stories, songs, bible verses, bible songs and exercise. Then we ate and played. She also gave the kids presents. She got each child 2 books. It was very cute and very fun. This one picture is of the kids doing the song "Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes." As you can tell, the teacher is on toes and a few kids (including my babydoll) is on head still! :-)
